Geoff has over 26 years of town planning and urban development experience on the Gold Coast, working in both the public and private sectors. His experience is associated with numerous strategic plans, development plans and master plans throughout South East Queensland, as well as the preparation and assessment of statutory planning applications from both a public and private sector position.
Geoff has been integral in a range of strategic planning initiatives including the Griffith University Knowledge Precinct concept, Gold Coast Marine Precinct concept, Yatala Enterprise Local Area Plan, Surfers Paradise Local Area Plan, Gold Coast Light Rail Density and Diversity Study, master planning and development applications for Calypso Bay and SkyRidge (formerly Pacific View Estate), and master planning for the Corporate Centre, Bundall.
As a long-term resident and local professional planner, Geoff has a strong understanding of the Gold Coast community and has cultivated a strong network of connections and professional working relationships with State and Local Government Officers.

Hoagy is a qualified Town Planner who, before joining UPS, spent 8 years at the City of Gold Coast working across a variety of teams, providing him with a diverse skill set and sound knowledge base.
During his time with the City of Gold Coast, Hoagy managed some of the city’s major projects including mixed-use, multi-tower high-rise developments; significant mixed-use commercial developments; large subdivisions and townhouse developments; the Gold Coast International Marine Precinct, and Queen Street Village (the former Gold Coast Hospital site).
Hoagy also helped create some of Council’s more progressive policy, primarily relating to the city’s most intense areas.
Since leaving Council, Hoagy’s professional portfolio includes complex mixed-use developments in the central and southern regions of the Gold Coast, as well as boutique high-rise developments. Hoagy consistently combines his experience, technical ability, lateral thinking and positive attitude to resolve complex issues and overcome hurdles.

Jack is a qualified Town Planner who joined UPS after working at the City of Gold Coast for 7 years. Jack’s experience within Council has provided an in-depth understanding of the development application process from lodgement to decision. As a Senior Planner for the City of Gold Coast, Jack has delivered a diverse range of projects such as high rise towers, mixed use commercial developments and industrial projects. Jack pairs his experience with his negotiation, communication and problem solving skills to produce high quality outcomes in a timely manner.

Jason is a qualified Town Planner with over 25 years of experience in both local government and private practice across Queensland. The majority of Jason’s career has been on the Gold Coast, where he has delivered some of the city’s most iconic developments such as Q1, Oracle and Jewel. As a Director of UPS, Jason has immersed himself in urban renewal development and championed its importance for the growth of the city. He is a member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, which gives him access to the latest innovations in urban design. With a proven track record of problem solving and strategy, Jason enjoys working on complex development applications. He has established himself as the foremost Town Planner for high-rise, mixed-use development and urban infill development on the Gold Coast.

Having worked in local government roles, previously in Brisbane and in recent years on the Gold Coast, Jess has a breadth of experience in development assessment that includes land subdivision, residential and commercial development.
Jess has specialised experience in assessment across the central and southern areas of the Gold Coast. She has a sound understanding of Queensland planning legislation, high-level negotiation skills and a vested interest in facilitating positive development outcomes for all stakeholders.

Kirsten assists the team on a weekly basis on secondment from MWM Advisory, a leading Gold Coast accounting and business services firm.
She brings to the team over 20 years of experience in Australia, the USA and the UK as a management accountant working across a range of industries including mining, retail, manufacturing and venture capital.

Leanne has over 20 years of experience in the planning and property development industry across South East Queensland, North Eastern New South Wales, and the UK.
Leanne began her planning career in local authority, initially joining Gold Coast City Council and from there moving onto Byron Shire in Northern New South Wales. She then moved into the private sector on the Gold Coast, managing planning and development projects across South East Queensland and North East New South Wales. Leanne relocated to the UK in 2006 where she advanced her career in the private sector, managing complex development projects including appeals throughout London and the East of England.
Leanne joined UPS in 2015 and offers extensive experience in managing a broad range of development projects, particularly in the residential, retail, mixed-use, child care and aged care sectors.

Michael has over 25 years of experience in town planning with both the public and private sectors.
He works extensively in areas of low, medium and high-rise developments, as well as retail shopping centre developments across Queensland.
Michael has a very loyal client base from high net worth individuals, private lenders, ASX-listed developers and Tier 1 construction companies. He offers clients direct and pragmatic advice with a strong understanding of commercial/market reality and construction processes.
He is a passionate Gold Coaster who understands the local DNA and has extensive professional networks.

Michael Nash has been part of the development industry since 1987, starting out in surveying before moving into town planning. He has an interest in understanding the DNA of a place and ensuring the genetics of each project fits neatly into and complements that place.
Michael provides commercial planning advice for residential, retail, commercial and tourism property sectors, including challenging ‘out-of-the-box’ projects to keep him on his toes.
He has left his stamp on some of the largest master planned communities in South East Queensland and influenced Gold Coast strategic planning through several projects, notably with involvement in the planning and business case development for the Gold Coast Light Rail since 1996.

Michelle commenced with UPS in 2017, bringing over 20 years of experience with a top tier news corporation to the team.
Michelle assists with development applications of various sizes including the Meriton Group, SkyRidge (formerly Pacific View Estate) and private dwelling developments, designing site analysis graphics and putting together background research.
As Officer Manager/Personal Assistant, Michelle keeps the UPS team on track, including helping with invoicing and playing a key role assisting the Directors.

Before joining Urban Planning Services in 2021, Olivia spent 7 years at the City of Gold Coast Council working across a variety of teams. This provided her with a diverse range of skill set in the pre-assessment of Development Applications and lapsing of Development Applications in relation to Infrastructure Charges. Thus bringing a vast array of knowledge to the UPS Team. Assisting with Development Application lodgements, preparing graphics and liaising with clients/consultants across multiple projects in keeping with the timelines of each individual project.

Sheena has over 9 years of experience in the development industry, bringing extensive experience in the public sector as a Senior Town Planner and then Supervising Town Planner at Gold Coast City Council.
Her previous experience spans a range of diverse development applications, from master planned residential communities and industrial estates, to large-scale mixed-use developments including Gainsborough Greens, Foreshore Coomera, The Surrounds and Empire Industrial Estate.
In Sheena’s role with UPS, she is involved with project management and the coordination of a diverse range of development applications across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, including the master planned Gold Coast International Marine Precinct and superyacht facilities at Coomera.
